I disagree in part. First, I, too, have a great deal of respect for Edna. I am glad for all of her messages, and for keeping this list -- and when needed, my spirits -- going. As far as what Dianne writes: I am worried that this kind of negativity will prevent others -- like me -- from making our own contributions. Our wonderful government gives us the freedom of speech, including the freedom to write. Who are we to censor someone's sense of humor, (if it is not of sexual/racial/or of a political nature)? If we don't like it, we should do as Audrey does: just delete it. That's what the delete key is for. But you might miss out on a nice story. I forwarded one of Dianne's stories on smoking to a friend who is quitting smoking ... As a former smoker, I could relate to her story, and it brought a smile to my face, and hopefully my friend. If you see some message that is too sexual or too prejudiced, or otherwise offensive, I think we should quietly send a message to the writer, expressing our disapproval. Or just delete it. Other than that, if one person enjoys it, someone else on the list may, too. Thank you, again, Edna, and thanks, too, to Dianne and all of the others, who try to put smiles on our faces. Dianne, I hope this dialog will NOT discourage you, or anyone else, from posting to this list.
