Fort Meigs State Memorial Perrysburg, Ohio A fort that helped save northwestern Ohio and Indiana from invasion in the War of 1812 has undergone a major renovation for the bicentennial celebration this year. Historians hope the $6.2 million renovation will bring new life to the Fort Meigs State Memorial, which sits atop a hill along the Maumee River. The Army abandoned the fort in 1815.
