Hello All, I am writing because I have a huge brick wall with my Great Grandparents. The surname is Parrish. Lucien Parrish lived in Philadelphia, PA I have found Lucien on the 1900-1930 censuses. He was married to Nannie J. Parrish. Nannie & Lucien were both born in Virginia but I am not sure which area of the state. Lucien & Nannie had two children Lucien JR. (b. 1905) & Robert (b. 1912) both born in Philadelphia. Oral history tells me that Lucien JR. worked for the Philadelphia Postal Service. Robert worked at one time as a Mortician's helper. I have not been able to find a birth certificate for Lucien SR. who was born December of 1873 or 1874. Nannie was just a year younger than Lucien Sr. so I assume she was born around 1875 or so. I have searched and searched the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) for all of my family listed above and can't find any matches. The only info I have is what I have shared. I know Lucien at one time owned 3 houses in Philadelphia and at one time had a trucking business. I love doing Genealogy research and help others often with census records, SSDI, WW1 & WW2 Draft Records etc. I just am at a stand still with my own research on this branch of my family tree. If anyone has advice on how to move forward or can help me attain more info on my family please respond.
