Hi Alyssa- I think I found William's family? Seems like Nicholas and Bethia are his parents, not certain, since they don't list relationships, but I think its a safe bet. Do you have William and Mary in 1880? It lists a Mehitable Mansfield as an Aunt, she should be William's aunt,since it lists the relationship to him. And the 1880 census indicates his father was born in Malta, I've never seen that country listed before. :) Nothing on the marriage yet, I did check the Massachusetts list on Ancestry, nothing on a Cummings marrying a Vella. According to the 1900 census, they had been married 42 years, so they married around 1858. They had one son, Fred, whom they were living with in 1900. In 1910, William is a widower, still working a shoe factory at 73 years old. Nothing for him in 1920, or for his son, maybe its a question of spelling, but I also stop seeing the son in the Lynn directories in 1910.
