My great grandfather was William H McKinney, born 1815, SC. He married Elizabeth Pigg Wakefield, March, 1840, Lincoln Co., TN. I've never been able to get back past William. I know there is a McKinney family in SC that had a William McKinney, born abt 1736 and married to Barbara (Barbry) Culp, born 1733. She was scalped by Indians, but lived. There are many Williams in their line. It appears that some of their descendants moved to KY, and I know of a number of KY McKinneys moved into Lincoln Co., TN, but I've never been able to make a connection. I will appreaciate any help.
