( spellings as is in census records) I did find an Ezra McKarney in the 1880 census, Montgomery Co. Ks. It appears his mother ( Mary C.) remarried to Benjamin Murphy. Ezra had a sister Oada/Osda? McKarney, age 10 born Iowa. He also had half siblings. In the 1900 census, Montgomery Co., Kansas, Benjamin and Mariah C. Murphy are still alive, Mariah's father, John Black is living with them. He was born 8-1814 Pa. He is widowed. Mariah's birth date is listed as 8-1843 born Ohio. She was married for 24 years, 6 children born, 3 living.
