Author: lainey112 Surnames: mcnamara, walshe/welsh Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.lookups.lookups/3141.16/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hi there my gt.gt-grandmother was born achill island in 1841. she was ann mcnamara, daughter of bryan mcnamara and ann lavell. she left achill and was married in paisley, scotland to richard walshe from westport, son of david welsh and bridget burke, on 03 JUL 1863 at Abbey (Paisley), Renfrew, Scotland. one of her children was owen, her daughter bridget was born in 1864 in paisley. ann's parentage is disputed as the family memory says that they ran off together. Her sister catherine mcnamara signed the register along with owen mcdonagh. in the paisley poor law records for 1904 ann's parents were edward mcnamara and margaret mcintyre, richards parents were david welsh and bridget burke. have you anything matching this? i was shocked a few years ago when i visited doogort and found a very strong family resemblance. here's hoping. thanks in advance if you can help. lainey Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
