I think I found Thomas in the 1870 census, Fairview, Jones Co.,Iowa It is indexed as Thomas McCarrey age 27 Ohio, Harrie age 27 Ohio, Wilson age 3 Iowa. Looking at the census page, it does look like it is Maria not Harrie. In one census record, 1910 maybe, it is indexed as Ezra's father as born Minnesota, but looking at the census page it looks to me that it says both his parents born United States. ( spellings as is in census records) I did find an Ezra McKarney in the 1880 census, Montgomery Co. Ks. It appears his mother ( Mary C.) remarried to Benjamin Murphy. Ezra had a sister Oada/Osda? McKarney, age 10 born Iowa. He also had half siblings. In the 1900 census, Montgomery Co., Kansas, Benjamin and Mariah C. Murphy are still alive, Mariah's father, John Black is living with them. He was born 8-1814 Pa. He is widowed. Mariah's birth date is listed as 8-1843 born Ohio. She was married for 24 years, 6 children born, 3 living. Married Maria C Black, born 12 Aug 1843,birthplace unknown, married in Jones Co Iowa 30 Oct 1864, later moved to Kansas. Thomas died 29 Mar 1875, maybe in Kansas or Iowa.
