Her death certificate, obituary, marriage record, naturalization papers, or immigration papers might have this information. You would also need to find out her adopted parents' names. Again, the above records may have their names. You also might find clues in a will or probate records. Also, did her adopted parents immigrate, too? Finally, unless you speak German you would probably need to either hire a researcher who speaks German or find a volunteer who speaks German, since the original records will be in German. Another good source could be the Family History Centers (aka Mormon genealogy library.) They may have German vital records (but you won't know until you know the area.) It has his birth place as Indiana and fathers surname as Taylor. I believe the birth place and fathers name are mistakes. You can order his death certificate ----------------------------- A Mosley family is in Overton Co., Tenn. in the 1920 census Robert Mosley 34 Lavada 29 Iola 8 J.T. Robert 6 Nathaniel 3 years 5 months ( the census was taken in Jan. 1920 so counting back 5 months would make his birth date match) Ivor Lee 7 months All born Tenn., I could not find them in the 1930 census ------------------------- I found this family at Ancestry.com and information can be found googling Lavada Clouse. First person is a Robin Clive Gatward. Mother's maiden name is Gatward. Robin's surname later known as Nurden and was born in Redhill Surrey. Its possible he was adopted and went from a Gatward to a Nurden but this needs confirming. Who was Robin's father as we know it was not Stephen Nurden. Second person is a Harriet Rose Gatward. Was she the daughter of a Jessica Gatward. She would have been born in Surrey possibly Redhill. She was the sister of Robin but it is believed she died aged approx 3 years old. Who was Harriet's father, was he the same father as Robin's. We know Jessica gave birth to a daughter but the name is not known exactly. Its possible that Harriet above could be her daughter but again needs confirming. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
