Been searching for the ancestry of Darius Thomas Whitney for 10 years, with no results, even from the Whitney group. He was b 8 Aug, 1933 in Schenchtady, N.Y. In 1850 he was in Dekalb, In with Lovina Whitney as the head of household. Some people say she was formerly Lovin Meeker. His 3rd marriage was in Nebraska, in 1886 or earlier, to Mary Ella Glidden. He lived in Sharon Springs, Ks from 1886 till 1920. He died 22 Jun, 1923 in El Paso, Co and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso, Co with his wife Mary Ella. Paul of San Diego

Would like to find them in an 1860 and 1850 census record - believe they are still in Canada at that time. Anne then went to Wisconsin and left Phelim in Canada - so would like to find him on 1870/1880 Canadian records if possible. Thanks for any assistance that might be available.

Abt. 1880) & Gracie Mack (She was sometimes called Trace or Tracey) (B. Abt. 1889, Peoria, Illinois) had 3 children. Amos (B. 1907?), Albert S. (B1910) & Roy M. (B 1915??). Albert S. Johnson was my grandfather. His son Albert R. Johnson (B. 1927) was my dad. The family use to travel around southern Illinois & Indiana doing odd jobs from town to town. By horse & wagon in the early 1900’s. I do remember traveling with them when I was a boy in the front of a truck. I remember sleeping on the floor boards. Sometimes they would pull a sleeping trailer or we would sleep in tents. This was in the late 1950’s. I was told that my G Grandfather Homer along with his son Homer Jr. died in the 1918 flu epidemic in Vandalia Illinois. I found their deaths in the Illinois death index & got their death certificates. They lost another son in a tent fire. When I looked at my G Grandfather’s death certificate I cannot make out his father’s name. I think it starts out with SA. Under mothers name it states “No Record”. My G Grandmother Grace Mack Johnson then married a man named William H. Jackson (B. 1879, D. 1/24/1967) Marriage date unk. They had 3 children all born in the 1920’s. Arthur, Marie & Viola. I have found a Homer & Grace Johnson in the census. But the ones I was looking at were still together in 1920 after Homer’s death. So that could not be the ones. For the life of me I have yet to verify any of them in the census. Not even my Grandfather Albert S. Johnson (B. 1910) or his Wife Catherine (Katherine) Johnson (B. 9-8-1913) or even my father Albert R. Johnson (B 1-7-1927) I cannot find any record of these people. Thank you for any help. T.
