Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.lookups.lookups/2851.1.2.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Steve's Declaration of Intention was dated 1938, so all of the children listed on it, except Eva, would have been in the 1920 census. Eva was born 8 months after the 1920 census was taken on Jan. 9th. In 1930, only Anthony, Amathis/Matthew, Adam and Eva were living at home. In that census, Anthony was a truck driver for a "pop" company which confirms the info in his obit. Once you get Steve or Mary's obit, that should give you the married names of their daughters and where everyone was in 1968.

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.lookups.lookups/2851.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Steve (the father) died 11 Nov 1968, Mary (the mother) died 19 Dec 1968, Mike died 8 May 1974 and Anna died 8 Jan 1966. Everyone died in Barberton. Their death certs may show their parents' names but it is more likely that the surviving spouse would know/remember than one of their children. Before I would spend $16.50 on each death cert, I would check http://www.ellisislandrecords.org for their immigration record. Column 11 usually asks for their nearest relative in their home country. Another idea would be to request a copy of their obits from the Barberton Public Library, http://www.barberton.lib.oh.us/. Either of these options could save you at least 33 bucks! TRIVIA: This is part of Mike's son's obit, from the "Akron Beacon Journal", Sept. 30, 2001, page E11, Death Notice: >Anthony A. Stock On Sept. 27, 2001, Tommy Stock completed his life's journey, just the way he lived it . . . with strength, courage, and dignity--and what a journey it was. Born June 4, 1913, Tommy left high school to help support his family by driving a truck. Later, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps to help preserve our natural resources. He became a welder at Babcock & Wilcox, moved to Portland, Ore., to build warships for the Navy during World War II,...

    3. Genealogy Lookup Forum Chat Genealogy Lookup Forum Chat (GLF) was created in February 1, 2005 . Through his hard work and generosity, GLF now has more than 500 active members in our online community. There are several opportunities to chat with other gen-friendly members in the main chatroom open 24/7. We do try to stay on topic and avoid being just another gossip session, so please join in on the camaraderie done the GLF way. This is a great time to discuss whatever ails you, genealogically speaking. We have several folks willing to do lookups at Ancestry.com, Genealogy.com and other subscription-based websites. We also have "learning" chats hosted by very knowledgeable volunteers concerning New England, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), GenTrek, and Beginners. For those online during the day, General Genealogy chat is hosted throughout the week, Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 6 pm EST. For those who like trivia, we also have Genealogy Trivia on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Mike recently created a message board for the GLF members to post messages on interests such as new or helpful websites, lookup queries for the elusive ancestors, surnames members are searching, military queries, DAR queries, and more. He is continually improving and adding to the board. Members have found it to be a wonderful new addition. This is for members only, so make sure you sign up! GLF is *FREE*!! When you sign up you will receive the GLF newsletter to inform you of current chats, hosts, etc. To celebrate our GLF Birthday (or 2nd Anniversary, if you prefer) we are having an online workshop from February 1-15, 2007 . We will be having presentations on Lineage Societies, Genograms, Timelines, Military Records and more. See the schedule at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genealogylookup/genealogyworkshop.html You will need to register before the workshop begins if you wish to attend. 2. abbottbc
    3. Would someone please look=up a marriage for Everett Charles Abbott, born 1907 in WV and Carrie May Burton, born 1912 in OH? Their only child was born in 1933. However, in the 1930 census they were already married and living with Everett's uncle, who was his guardian, in Pt. Pleasant, WV. I went to Charleston and they told me they had a "notation" but no official copy, of a marriage in Fayette Co., WV in 1929 but I haven't been able to get back up there to try to find it. If one of you kind souls in WV would find me a copy, I would certainly appreciate it! Thanks, Brenda GILBERT Abbott [email protected]
