Once a week I log in to my MyHeritage account and take a look at each of my nine senior/primary kits. For each, I just scan through the matches (leaving the default "sort by shared cM," even though it seems likely much of what MyHeritage identifies as (smaller) shared HIRs are either non-existent or IBS) up to the point where MyHeritage says "DNA Matches listed below are lower quality matches that should be viewed with skepticism" (this cutoff appears to be at "40 cM shared DNA"). Every time I reach out to someone for the first time, I put a note on the match using the note-making feature in the upper-right-hand corner of the match (in this matchlist); that way, when I make my weekly matchlist visit, I can scan through looking for the new ones to contact. When I find a new match to contact (one where the "note" corner tab is grey, indicating "no saved note"), I hold down the ctrl key on my keyboard (so that my clicks open new browser tabs) and mouse-click two of the match's buttons: "review match" and "contact." The new "pedigree view" of my match's MyHeritage tree is available under "review match," as is the new ICW list Lorna mentioned. (The "family view" (Ancestry's term) is accessible from the "review match" but it's so hard to read that I rarely visit it.) > -----Original Message----- > From: GENEALOGY-DNA [mailto:[email protected]] On > Behalf Of Jim Bartlett > Sent: August 29, 2017 09.31 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [DNA] MyHeritage > > Lorna > > Thanks - how do we access the pedigree view?
I get automatic weekly updates, one email for all my kits. I *think* I set it up with the drop-down list under my name: site settings, then "My preferences" with a check in the box for weekly updates. I just examine ones with over 1.0% sharing.
