Lindsey The price of the Ancestry.com test is not that great and you can decide later if you wish to maintain a subscription. I have tested with each of the companies and do not consider the tests to be a waste of money but I do use 23andme more than I use the other companies. I'll probably wait to see what Family Tree does before I make a decision. As I recall, FTDNA's sale usually starts the Monday before Thanksgiving. Except for Mt-DNA information which might prove useful, Family Finder comparisons would be easier. Whatever I do, I think I'll be very lucky if I can identify two third great-grandparents using autosomal DNA. What about Ancestry as another possibility? Is it true that Ancestry DNA results are of limited use for those who don't subscribe? I have no reason to subscribe when almost every record I would ever need is already within easy reach.
