I hope I won't be disappointed but my Ancestry results just came in and if the ethnic estimates are any indication of what to expect, I should do well there because the estimates couldn't be more consistent with what I know about my ancestors and I have traced many of my lines to the 17th, 16th century and beyond. While Ancestry is not the first company to recognize my predominately English ancestry, it is the first to recognize 15% Germanic Europe and 10% Ireland and Scotland. The only surprise was 2% Sweden. The rest was England or Wales as it should be. What do others think of the accuracy of Ancestry's estimates? I answered the survey, gave the company a score of 10, complained about the lack of a chromosome browser, and mirabile dictu, even agreed to a telephone survey. Lindsey
Hi Lindsey, Glad your Ancestry ethnicity estimate was pretty good. My mother's went from decent to way off so I too agreed to be contacted. I don't think I agreed to a phone survey, though. I'm not usually near enough the phone to see who's calling, so callers have to leave a message.
