I have a match on Family Finder, longest segment 13.87 cms., total number of cms. 40.65. However this is spread over a total of 22 chromosomes, nine of which are spread over just one chromosome, the X, the largest match on the X being 6.56 cms. Total number of X matches being 25.51 cms. Is this unusual and if so does it have any kind of special significance? Apart from confusing me even more of course. David
I suggest you focus on the longest HIR. That one is probably IBD, but even it could be a false match. There is a strong possibility that the HIRs under 6 cMs are false matches.
