A couple of months ago I did a DNA test with Ancestry.com and have found several matches. Good, but what surprised me was that some close cousins, according to a careful paper trail, who did the DNA test with Ancestry some time ago, are not showing up as my matches. One of them reports that he inquired at Ancestry because he was not able to see his list of matches, and was told that there has been an upgrade. They sent him a new list of matches, which they said were fuzzy because he had not submitted a family tree. That doesn't make sense. This is a DNA test, not a family tree test. I've come to suspect that Ancestry's own older DNA test results are not compatible with their current test results. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone have information about the compatibility of older DNA tests and more recent DNA tests at Ancestry.com? Joan Lince
A few that I lost with the change a few years ago with Ancestry showed up at MyHeritage and are showing on Gedmatch as cousins On Mon, Oct 22, 2018 at 5:49 PM Joan Lince <joanklince@earthlink.net> wrote: > A couple of months ago I did a DNA test with Ancestry.com and have found > several matches. If you don't match there, you have a problem, and it's probably not the DNA test.
