I am working on the surname LATTIN and have received a 1914 diagram of what is described as "Lattin Hill in the parish of Northfield. pver he Litchfield line in what is now Thomaston." Looking for further information re this area and the Lattins, believed to include Thomas LATTIN and Abigail LAKE Lattin. I believe my 4 great Grandmother, Anna Lattin was their daughter. The letter includes the information that a house stood on the hill, 100 years earlier which had a bar and a beacon on the hill. The beacon was used in both the Rev. War and in 1812 War to clal out the militia. "One certain occasion was the raid of Gov. Tryon on New London. One of the furthest regiments was commanded by col. Carter of Warien Conn, but it was one of the first to reach the fort (at least this grandson so stated)" the author is G F. Goodenough of Northfield, CT.
