Some John Masons listed, but dates wrong for what is needed. None in Hartford. He d. betw. 12 July 1698, the date, and 29 Sept. foll. when pro. of his will was made. His s. Benjamin is counted the progenit. of the late Hon. Jonathan of U. S. senate. Ano. JOHN, of Boston had w. Prudence, and ch. a few yrs. later. JOHN, Cambridge vill. now Newton, s. of Hugh of Watertown, freem. 1690, was a lieut. selectman, by w. Eliz. eldest d. of lieut. John Hammond, had John, b. 22 Jan. 1677; Eliz. 10 Nov. 1678; Abigail, 16 Dec. 1679; Samuel, 22 Jan. 1690; Hannah, 26 Jan. 1696; and Daniel, 10 Nov. 1698; w. d. 1714, and he d. a. 1720. ___________________________________________________________ It seems to me that the John Mason of Hartford is the one who married Hannah Hawes in Dedham, the age of oldest child Mary, 20 in 1698, would fit with the marriage date of 1676. Youngest child, Lydia, age one, would have become the wife of John Seymour, 25 Jun 1718 (date from "Barbour Marriages in Hartford").
