Hi Everyone, I am new to the list and fairly new to genealogy research. I have traced my Bemiss line back to Montville Twp, New London, Ct., though the details I have on them at this point are few and far between. Here is what I have so far on my Bemiss line and the first few generations thereafter. Please let me know if anyone has any additional information on the family, or if you think you may connect with this family. I welcome any suggestions, ideas, etc. on research in CT. as I have not done any research regarding CT. records. I live in Oregon, so I don't know if much will be available for me to research from here, so I would welcome information on research volunteers, genealogical societies, libraries, etc. that may be willing to do look ups for reasonable fees. Born 21 Mar 1799 in Montville Twp, New London, Ct (IGI 7450306). Died Oct 1885 in Danville, Illinois. He married ? (wife's name may also have been Sarah) They had the following children: 4 i. Hannah Elizabeth Bemis(s) 5 ii. Martha Ann Bemis(s) They had 9 other children, names currently not known 3. Female Child Bemiss. She married J.D. Smith. She married Dr. John A. Hall, 1 Oct 1848 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Born 19 Aug 1825 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Died 13 Aug 1896 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. They had the following children: 6 i. Dr. Charles H.H. Hall 7 ii. Harry Augustus Hall 8 iii. Elmon T. Hall 9 iv. Mary Elizabeth Hall 5. Martha Ann Bemis(s).
