Does any one know of the parents of: 1. Zachariah WHITMAN b 1595 of London, England d 1666 Milford, New Haven, CT md 10 June 1630 London, England.. TO: Sarah BISCOE NOTES: Zachariah was 40 years of age when he left London on 19 Sep 1635 for New England aboard the "TRUELOVE" He came with his wife, Sarah age 25, their son Zechariah 2 1/2..two nephews, Thomas age 15 and John age 14 the sons of his sister Elizabeth (WHITMAN) STREME / STREAM. Zechariah was the ruling elder, he was an ordained teacher of the church at Milford and assisted in the installation of Rev. Roger NEWTON. He may have had a son Joseph who was admitted as freeman of Ct in 1664, removed to Huntington, Long Island, New York and died before his father in 1666. Also his son Zachariah 2) was dead by 1666. In Zechariah 1) will dated 24 April 1666 gave his estate at Milford after the death of his wife Sarah to his nephew Zachariah the s/o his brother John..and to George CLARK and John STREAM the s/o of his sister Elizabeth (WHITMAN) STREAM-OTIS each 20 pounds." Elizabeth WHITMAN b 1595-1605 of London, England d aft 12 Sep 1672 Weymouth, Norfolk, MA md 22 Feb 1619/1620 London, England, TO: Thomas STREAM NOTES: Elizabeth's husband Thomas STREAM / STREME died abt 1635 in England. Elizabeth came to New England with her children, probably at the same time as her brother Zachariah and his family..She md after 1653 General John 1) OTIS the emigrant. Elizabeth and her 1st husband Thomas STREAM had a daughter Elizabeth STREAM who md John HOLBROOK as his 2nd wife... Elizabeth and Thomas also has sons John, Thomas and Benjamin. I can't find anything about Benjamin except that he was a brother of Thomas [Sav v4 p222 under Thomas] There is a Benjamin who died 1663 who had a brother Thomas who died 1662, they were the sons of John [Pioneers of MA by Pope p439] If there is a connections I don't know it at this date. NOTES: John was my 9th gr grandfather and the 5th gr grandfather of President Abraham LINCOLN.. John was freeman 13 March 1639... removed soon to Weymouth, Norfolk, MA., He and his wife were parents of 9 ch.. some born in England, some born here. Savage doesn't say who his wife was, but Torrey says her name may have been Mary or perhaps Ruth both with a ? by those names. His wife died 1662, John died at age 90 in 1692.
