I have just found a document that states in Dec. 29, 1838 that: John Allison, lately Weaver in Kilmarnock, Ayr, Scotland, now residing at Thompsonville, Co. Hartford and State of Connecticut, U.S. of America. John Allison was born 16 Oct 1808 in Maybole, Ayr and married Elizabeth Stirrat and a son John. He may have gone to the US without his family. Does anyone recognize John or his family? Thanks. bill -- William H. K. Davidson Toronto, ON VE3CQU ICQ # 12191600 Searching: Australia Piper (Capt. John and Capt.
