To any kind person willing to help me. I have a list of CT census index of all the TODD's listed for 1840 census of the list I started with a TODD Hiram CT LItCHFIELD CO LITCHFIELD 063 1840. I sent a check to Litchfield vital records asking them for the family listing for Hiram for that census year so I could check family names. They sent thecheck back telling me they only records of births and deaths. Also tellling me that I have to check with the Town Clerk of the specfic town involved that there is no county government in CT. So where do I write for the information that I am searching for.
