I am posting this for a friend who is writing a book or article on George Tefft and his wife Mary. She is looking for other researchers of this couple. George TEFFT, possibly son of James & Martha (SHEFFIELD) TEFFT, was b. ca. 1745, probably in South Kingstown, Washington Co., RI. He lived in South Kingstown until 1799, then in Lebanon, CT, 1799-1802, then in the Bolton/Vernon area of Tolland County, CT. 1810 census record from Vernon is the last record I have of him. Where and when did he die? His wife Mary died in Stonington in 1834. Where and when were she and George married and who were her parents? George and Mary had the following children: Martha (m. Levi TOTTEN); Sarah (m. Nathan KENYON); Lucy (m. Thomas TEFFT]; Elizabeth (m. Isaiah GREEN); Mary (m. William COTTRELLl); and possibly a son Caleb. Most of the children stayed in Rhode Island, but Caleb, if he was theirs, moved with them to Connecticut and died in Vernon, 22 Dec 1864 at the age of 73. Linda Mathew ctmathew@aol.com
