My elusive ancestors are DAVISes and Barbour has been consulted before, but I don't think for the Colchester area. I do not know whether they were from Colchester, suspect Windham, Norwich, or New London because of fellow travelers to (what is now PA) with the Susquehanna Company. If you will, please, I am desperate for a locale for Reuben and/or Benjamin DAVIS 1760-1800. Benjamin traveled to the Wyoming Valley in 1763 and apparently stayed; Reuben traveled there in 1769 , laid out the main road transferred one of his lots to a Silas GORE and disappears. Very much appreciate your checking. -jacki >> Jacki, I looked in the Colchester VR's and they do have some DAVIS' families, but no Reuben or Benjamin DAVIS. There is an Easter, Isaac, Jaell, Laura Ann, Myles F., Samuel and Sarah. All except Laura Ann and Samuel appear to be in Isaac DAVIS' family. Laura Ann is listed as marrying James Kellogg (colored person). Remember, all I have is the Colchester VR's. Sorry and good luck. Dave from Long Island
