Today I decided to take a drive up thru South Windsor to East Windsor Town Hall to do a little research on my husband's family. (Stengel/Stengle, VanGorder, Tschummi, Pascoe). On the way, I drove past all kinds of shade tobacco fields--dozens of them. The soil is being prepared and several of them had tractors out tilling the soil. The shade netting is all rolled up on the posts, but it looks like much of it took a bad hit from winds this winter. Much of it looked shredded. Just wanted to let you know that shade tobacco growing is alive and well here in CT! Barb
