I am new to the list. I am looking for info on John Roeps/Ropes b ca Amsterdam, Holland. Was married to Mary Magdalena Brust b Germany. They were in the 1850 census of CT, Norwalk Co., Fairfield Twp. with children born there in CT John Jr.b ca 1843, Rebecca b ca 1846 and Herman b ca 1848. They departed later that same year for Ohio. Their son John Jr. served in the civil war from Ohio and listed his place of birth as Connecticut. Any help with these ancestors would be greatly apprecited. Thank you, Regina Gray
