Tracy... a step brother/sister are no relation what so ever.. a half brother/sister shares one parent with a sibling from a previous marriage.. Step means that two parents get married for the 2nd time, each had children by their first marriage..those children are of no relation to each other...they are step brother or step sister.. in fact it isn't uncommon to see them marry.. half means that your mother (or father) get divorced or a death caused one to be single..they remarry and have a child, that child would be your half brother or sister.
