Listers: Thank you to each and every one who responded to my query about the CT statute regarding copies of vital records. I actually went into the CT statute website and I agree that many times it is up to interpretation. One person suggested taking a camera with you to the records office. I don't have an extremely high-tech camera which might work if they would allow it. I certainly don't mind hand copying the information -- it's just that I would like to have an "original" copy of the document. As I said, I wouldn't even mind paying the fee if I could actually have a copy of the original record. I guess I'll have to be satisifed with what happens in each town record office. I should be thankful that I've been able to accumulate all that I have and that in many cases the records have been preserved. Again, thank you listers for your support. Carol
