To: CTFAIRFI-L@ROOTSWEB.COM, CTFAIRFI@ONELIST.COM I - and, so far as I know, everyone else on these lists - am doing genealogical research. If I need a book, I don't boycott certain libraries simply because I don't agree with their policies. If I need a copy of a Will, I don't refrain from contacting a Probate Court because the staff are indifferent. And since the entire purpose of mail lists is the free exchange of information among people with similar interests, I do not intend to "drop" a list. Nancy, for strongly felt personal reasons which she has explained to me and others who inquired, decided to cease acting as List Owner at Rootsweb. Hers was an honest decision which I respect. She has started a new list. Have I made a choice? Yes, I now subscribe to two lists. Using Outlook Express's Inbox Assistant, all my messages from both lists are placed in my "Connecticut" folder ... and I seldom notice from which list they originate. Good luck to Nancy and her new list. Good luck Rootsweb. Extra special good luck (and continuing thanks) to the transcribers with their 'humongous' and much appreciated project. Let's press on ...
