Thanks.... Does anyone know about the family of Thomas STANDISH? He was my 8th gr gf. I need his wives (if he had more than one wife) and children.. I come thru his dau Sarah who md John WIARE/WARE. I need to know who her mother was..sure hate climbing that wrong tree...as I have done in the past! I had WILSON as my direct line, worked on it for years, only to find I was wrong... I have Thomas with two wives...Susanna FRANCIS (not sure if that is her last name, found her in the Ancestral files) and Susanna SMITH d/o Richard and Rebecca (....) SMITH. TO Susanna FRANCIS? b.......................... d......................... md2) c 1659 [according to Torrey their first ch was born 1660] TO Susanna SMITH 1624-1692 I know of two daughters, Sarah and Eunice, and now I can add Lydia to that list. The years between the births of the three daughters makes me believe there were two wives, yet in the below site they give Lydia as the d/o Susanna SMITH..who according to Torrey was born 1624, that would make her too young to be Lydia's mother... In Torrey on page 60 under John BELDEN it says this of him: BELDEN, John (1631-1677) & Lydia [RILEY?]; 24 Apr 1657, Wethersfield, CT. I would say that Torrey was correct when he put a ? by Lydia's surname RILEY? for now we know her name was STANDISH... If John BELDEN and Lydia STANDISH were married 1656..that would mean that Lydia (who is new to me..didn't know of her) was born around 1636...AND I have my Sarah STANDISH her sister, being born that year!!
