There have been several books published about that time period to which you refer, including the "Sinister Sisters" and the "Terrible Tuttles" that pretty well document the sad events of yesteryear. This line later spent time in Nova Scotia as a result of Stephen Tuttle's Loyalist commitment. Of course, my line made its way back to Boston, MA area, which is where I am now. The Tuthills from Long Island, NY came from Hingham, MA and that is the line of a brother of my ancestor. They landed in North America I assume at different times and I assume on different boats. Most of the other Tuttles lines used the more conventional spelling that is now my last name. However, I collect all Tuttle/Tuthill family data. Yet another Tuttle brother landed off the coast of ME when their craft sank during a historical worst hurricane. Miraculously, almost every passenger was saved although all of their possessions went to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. These Tuttles moved on to NH and some still remain there today. I would appreciate any information that adds to my accumulation. Happy Holidays! Regards, Bill.
