Hi, I don't mean to be presumptuous, but have you checked Maine? In chiecking my ancestors i discovered that the borders eventually separated states and some of the people "ended up" as another state. Ct., NY and Ohio for instance as well as Massl, NH and Maine. so who knows back then where Vt was included. No harm trying.
