Was going through my mail, when I came upon some posts, I had missed. I have Nathaniel Porter as the son of John Porter and Anna White of Messing. This I found in The History of Ancient Windsor by Stiles, Vol 2. Mr. Stiles does mention the genealogy by Henry Porter Andrews, but states he has not seen this work. Mr. Andrews previously published, 1882 ,an earlier genealogy of Desc. of Col. John Porter of Salisbury, CT, from which he has used a few items, bracketed thus [ ]. I am not saying that Stiles is correct, only that I had seen a published genealogy on the White family, in which it tells about Anna White, marrying John Porter, her sister Mary and brother John White of Messing. Her sister Mary, md Joseph Loomis, which is my ancestor, so spurred me on to find more information on the White family, in doing so found the Porter family. Not sure how much of this is important to you. Due to the fact that I did not see the original post to which you were replying, had no way of knowing. If the Porter information is wanted by anyone, I will be glad to share what is in the book. Am quite sure I have copies of the White family descendants as well. Carole CT
