Other than the CSL (CT State Library) where would I be able to obtain copies of two wills I am seeking for Irene Scoville Smith & Oliver Lucius Hotchkiss? They former lived in the Pine Meadow section of New Hartford and I believe the latter was either in New Hartford or Norfolk. Would I write to the probate court in Litchfield?? Any thoughts? Jan

Hi Jan, In checking information for CT cities and towns, Litchfield Probate has records from Oct 1742- to present. Earlier records may be found in the Hartford,Woodbury, or New Haven Probate Offices. Norfolk has probate records from May 1779- to the present. New Hartford probate records from June 1834- to present, while earlier records may be found in Barkhamsted.
