    1. [CT] NARA Waltham wants "Stories"

    3. Hello, On my "genealogy to do list" for a long time is driving down to "NARA" in Waltham, MA, and learning about the facility, and possibly doing some look-ups. I'm going to try harder to get there this summer, so I just went to the web site to remind myself of the exact address. On the home-page I noticed this little announcement: Share your research stories for NARA's 75th Anniversary! http://www.archives.gov/northeast/nyc/public/researcher-invitation-75th.pdf On the home-page, I see that this "Northeast Region / Boston" Government facility: Serves Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. http://www.archives.gov/northeast/boston/ Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: Curious how many researchers from other, New England States drive to MA and visit NARA. I'm interested in the "military records" and "naturalization records" ... (LEWIS, HANNAH, GAVIN, etc.) http://www.archives.gov/northeast/boston/public/genealogy.html http://www.archives.gov/northeast/boston/public/genealogy-resources.html

    3. Just a general "PS" from the grumpy old List Admin on Betty's message, but if any of you are fortunate enough to live a reasonable distance from a NARA research facility you really owe it to yourself to go visit it sometime. They have a wonderful website that offers a lot to genealogists, historians, and the like, but it just is not the same as a personal visit there. I live in the Metropolitan Washington, D. C. area, where we not only have the main National Archives (AKA "NARA") to use, but also Library of Congress, the main DAR Library, and numerous others, and I am like a little kid in an ice candy store when I go in there. :-) Just my personal two cents worth, FWIW, along with my apologies to Betty for jumping into the conversation.
