He moved to the USA, believed Connecticut, in the 1860-70s after serving in the Merchant Navy. He may have been a respected member of the community/person of standing as my grandmother was sent his obituary in a US newspaper - it was on the front page and the page had a black border as is done when an important personage dies. Daniel was the son of Patrick Smyth, a linen weaver of Co Armagh & his mother may have been Mary Johnston. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
