    2. So you like maps? There are some wonderful map sites out there, but one of the interesting ones is at the web site of the Library of Congress, the American Memory Collection. Their first page is found here: _http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/index.html_ (http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/index.html) Once there you can browse among multiple topics, some of which are "Cities, Towns", and "Maps". The town of Meriden, CT has a map that sports a border of images of all the significant buildings in town at the time of the creation of the map - mid to late 1800s I believe and you can zoom in to very high magnification and look at what your ancestor's place of business looked like. There are of course significant city buildings that are still there today. There are many things of interest to genealogists at the Library of Congress, you just have to spend a bit of time poking around to find just what you want. I think you'll be surprised. Cyndislist has a long list of map sites that you may find useful. Because CT is one of the original thirteen colonies, mapmakers were in business for many years and there is a lot for you to find. _http://www.cyndislist.com/maps.htm_ (http://www.cyndislist.com/maps.htm) This is such a broad topic that we could discuss it for days, but it's worth exploring for anyone.
