I live in Madison (seasonally) and visxited the Archives there and notice they have books/family genealogy etc on the CHITTENDENs. The part of Madison where they still live used to be part of Guilford I believe. I also have an old map where they name the houses and there is a string of CHITTENDENs on the road going towards Guilford. If you are in Connecticut the Archives is the yellow building on the green and is only periodically open. Call 203-245-5667 - they are very helpful. The chittenden family I referred to lived on Rte 79 across from the lake.
