I appreciate your looking into this. My sources are old family stuff and most of the Talcott stuff came from my great grandfather back in the late 1800s. I am pretty sure of the Talcott line since they were fairly prominent and easy to trace, John's father was a governor of CT and he was a product of a first marriage to Abigail Clarke ... another easy one to verify. What I have on John is born 1698/99 and died 1771 and marrying Abigail Theobold on December 30, 1725. Her dates are given as 1703-1784, which would make her 22 when she was married and it seems unlikely that John was her second husband at that age. I amnot sure where the Tibbals popped up from. Let me know what you think. Abby
My earliest dates are a marriage in 1743/44, so a lot of your details are way before mine (at the moment). Please do keep the info coming. Hi Abby, Yes, I have your Abigail. She was the dtr. of Thomas, son of Thomas & Abigail Stream. He m. Sarah Briscoe, first wife, 8 Apr. 1703 (MVR) who was baptized 27 Feb. 1681 and died 25 Jan. 1718, dtr. of Nathaniel Briscoe & Mary Camp. Abigail Tibbals b. 3 June 1704, baptized 27 Apr. 1718 (First Church of Milford), died 16 Feb. 1784. Mar. Hartford, CT 30 Dec. 1725 John Talcott bpt. 27 Feb. 1698/9 died 1772 s of Gov. George & Abigail Clark. I think that someone just got mixed up on the names of Tibbals & Theobold. Maybe they couldn't quite remember it and settled on Theobold. Was Abigail Clarke easy to verify because of her marriage or do you have an inside tie to Clark lines? I have Clarks and can't get beyond 1829! If you need more information on her father, grandfather & gg'father ( the immigrant), let me know and I will send it on to you.
