    3. Grace, What paid sight did you sign up for?   For everyone--- The site JM referred people to was a blog site, reporting the additions of some records to the World Vital Records, an independent paid membership site.   If you want to know about a site, ask about it on the mailing lists you subscribe to. Find out if others have tried  the site, and if there have been problems or misrepresentations, or have they found the site useful and truthful. I've come across several sites that appear useful and reasonably priced if they deliver the service they are selling as described on their web page. I've heard of a couple sites that have hidden add on fees, after you have subscribed.   With so many paid membership sites available, it only makes sense to ask fellow researchers their opinions if one is unsure about a site.     Marilyn CT --- On Sat, 12/27/08, amzgrace <amzgrace@comcast.net> wrote: From: amzgrace <amzgrace@comcast.net> Subject: Re: [CT] Connecticut Vital Records online To: genealogybarb@snet.net, genconnecticut@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, December 27, 2008, 9:25 AM I think I made a big mistake signing up for the paid service to look for ancestors and it is giving me people with the same names either now living or just back to the 1900s when I need the 1700-1800 timeframe. It is a large book collection and can be found free of charge to use in many libraies/genealogical libraties. I have used it at the CT State Library, CT Society of Genealogists and the Godfrey Library. I am sure other genealogical libraries have the same service. It can be a huge help in very early records fo the various town in CT.
