    3. Hi Elizabeth, If the twins were born in 1909, and the family was living in Danbury, CT, in 1910, then there is a very good chance the children were born in Danbury. I don't know about Town Halls and City Halls in Connecticut, but in Massachusetts you can write a slow-mail letter to the Town Clerk or City Clerk and ask for either a "genealogy look-up" or the actual Certificate. However, having said that, just this year, I have noticed that the City Clerks near Boston are now charging fees for genealogy look-up's, which may or may not be included in the cost of getting you an actual certificate. On the other hand, there are some small towns where you can e-mail the Town Clerk, and receive information. (I usually request just the basic information from the record.) One "hint" for researchers is that I have found the easiest route to find an "official web site" for the government of a town or city is to go to www.google.com and type in the full name of the town/city and state; for example, "Danbury, Connecticut" (using quotes). (The same comment goes for the Research Departments of public Libraries. Some large, city Libraries are now charging "research fees." ) (And, I find their web sites by searching at Google for something like, "Danbury Public Library." (using quotes) Quite often you can e-mail their Research Department.) Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: I just found out last week that the City Clerk's Office in Nashua, NH, doesn't "do" genealogy ! Which is very sad for researchers ! I guess you have to contact either the Nashua Public Library or the Nashua Historical Society, neither of which has responded to my e-mail questions. ----- Original Message ----- From: "elizabeth Abbott" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2005 2:36 PM Subject: Repost: Douglas and Dorothy WILKINS - born abt. 1908 > Sorry that I made an error so early in my efforts.
