My grandmother's name is Estelle and it was transcribed as "Castle". Or my mother-in-law's people all have Norwegian names: Bernhart M. became Bernhardin when transcribed. Of course then there is the other problem- my mil's grandfather was Christian but he went by Christ which is what appears on the census. I accidently found him on the same page as one of his children because I was looking for Christian. Valerie
