This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Conlet Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.connecticut.unknown/4734/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have just started to explore some of my CT connections and I have a general question. I presume vital records can be researched at the State Archives (Hartford). Are there any other locations in CT, possibly a library, who might have copies of statewide vital records? I am in RI and wonder if there is a source closer to me than Hartford. Thanks for any info. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have also just recently started my CT search and I live in MI so I'm even further away. I've been trying to find a Revolutionary War ancestor and the DAR lady who has been helping me suggested the Connecticut State Library at www.cslib.org. They can do specific searches in their library or direct you to a genealogy helper. Don't know how you feel about paying a researcher but usually the cost is reasonable. I've only been to that site once later at night and found the CT Ancestry Society to whom I sent a snail mail letter.
