    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mjmoser Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.connecticut.unknown/4734.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: There is no such site that I know of. The only way that I know of to do this kind of research is to go to each individual town hall to do the work. All birth records are sealed for 100 years. Access to these records is limited to specific indivuals as defined in the state statues. The State library also has an index of church recordss that is available at the library. This index was not microfilmed by the LDS. For more info on what is available, check out on line the History & Genealogy Section on the State libray website. It takes a little looking but there is much useful information there. Everybody doing genealogy research in CT should become very familiar with this website. The further back you go in history, the more there is to learn that will help your find yours CT ancestors. For the 20th century, there are some commercial sites that cam help you obtain copies of vital records. Compare the fees charged by these sites with the fees the towns and the state sharge, The fees are increasing in CT, and becoming similar to or the same as the commercial fees.
