    1. [CT] CT Surname: CHURCH, DORRANCE
    2. Leslie Kraus
    3. Hi,   I'm searching for my brick wall by the name of James CHURCH.  He was born in CT between 1833 - 1835. He married Mary Elizabeth Dorrance of Foster, RI in 1857 in Sterling, CT.   They had their first son, Walter, in 1857 but he later died in 1859.  They had two other sons, Charles U. CHURCH, born in 1859 in Dodgeville, RI and  John Herbert CHURCH born in 1861 in Foster, RI.   I have never been able to find the parents of James CHURCH.  He never listed them on any document.  I did find a James CHURCH, 15, working in the factory in Griswold in 1850 which could have been him.  I also found a James CHURCH in the Civil War with the 5th CT. volunteers.   Any help anyone could give, I would greatly appreciate it.   Thank you   Leslie krausl@sunyocc.edu Syracuse, NY

    2. Anyone researching the surname of Lemonier and who has any information on a Lucy Oviatt who married John Lemonier in CT, please contact me at the address below. Lucy was the daughter of Wheeler and Mehitable Sperry Oviatt and b. ca. 1804 or 1806....not sure if she was born before or after her brother, Alexander b. ca 1805 in New Haven or Milford, CT. I am very interested in a listing of her siblings. I believe that Lucy and her husband moved to or settled in Ohio. Thank you... I have not been there in a number of years, but the staff was always very pleasant and helpful. The records are indexed, so finding individuals is very easy. Unfortunately, naturalizations that early often do not have much information, but you never know! Good luck! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
