They have a resource called "public records index" which lists living individuals through various sources, such as directories, Motor Vehicle records and phone listings. I first tried Elizabeth, but found hundreds of them, and have no way to really narrow the search. Also, she could be married and found under a married name. The same applies to the other females. So, I tried the men. There are a couple of Ivans in Brooklyn. Interestingly enough, though, I couldn't even find you! The only bit of information I can provide is the following on Jorge. For the search "Jorge Rios in NC" there were 41 hits, but only one at Fayetteville. Calero Jorge Rios, 6191 Lake Trail Dr. Fayetteville, NC, 28304, Phone (910) 425-8799 For "George Rios in NC" there were 4 hits, one at Fayetteville. George Rios 4638 Canterbury Rd., Fayetteville, NC, 28304, unfortunately, no phone number listed. You might want to try your luck with the various online telephone directories. For a fee, some of them will provide additional information on the listees. Also, Ancestry.com is available at many public libraries, for you to do a look-up for these family members. Good luck with your search. Ginny Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Grace, What paid sight did you sign up for? For everyone--- The site JM referred people to was a blog site, reporting the additions of some records to the World Vital Records, an independent paid membership site. If you want to know about a site, ask about it on the mailing lists you subscribe to. Find out if others have tried the site, and if there have been problems or misrepresentations, or have they found the site useful and truthful. I've come across several sites that appear useful and reasonably priced if they deliver the service they are selling as described on their web page. I've heard of a couple sites that have hidden add on fees, after you have subscribed. With so many paid membership sites available, it only makes sense to ask fellow researchers their opinions if one is unsure about a site. I have used it at the CT State Library, CT Society of Genealogists and the Godfrey Library. I am sure other genealogical libraries have the same service. It can be a huge help in very early records fo the various town in CT. I have at least 20 lines in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Scot.? I have seen this information on the law somewhere.? Like you I will try to back it up.? I have also seen mining accidents for children as young as 10.? I know the Scots were an intelligent group.? Let me know what you find.? I don't remember when the child labor laws were passed, but it must have been after Elizabeth Barret Browning. Thanks for the information.?
