    1. [GenConnecticut-L] PHEBE (PHOEBE) BARTRAM
    2. Allen John Mallory
    3. Help with parents of Phoebe Bartram that married Abel Barnum. Have not as yet been able to locate parents and birth/death dates. Phoebe married Abel Barnum in the Congregational Church in New Fairfield (April 1792), which record noted she was from Reading (Redding?). Abel is buried in the Town Center Cemetery in New Fairfield with a death date of May 26, 1799. If he was born circa 1719 (based on gravestone age at death), both he and Phoebe most likely (barring immaculate conception) did not have children. I do not know where Phoebe is buried nor when she died. She is not listed in the same cemetery as Abel and Abel's wife Ruth Bronson (d. Oct 31, 1788). Abel reportedly also had another wife, Althea Beardsley, whom I cannot locate either, nor join with any other Beardsley's. 2. Dave Wood
    3. hello Everyone, I am new to the group (joined today), and hope someone can help me find information concerning my 3rd great grandfather, Augustus Stone. he died in Vermont, but the records are in such poor condition, they are of little help. From his death records, I did find that he was born in 1802 ( around Oct. 14) in Hartford, Ct. The records state that he was the son of Eli ( or Ely) Stone. I have tried to send for the Hartford records, but have had no luck. I know there was a Rev. Ely Stone in Hartford at the time, but without and hard evidence, I don't know if this is the correct person. Thank you, Dave

    2. Allen John Mallory
    3. Help with parents of Elizabeth Gibbons that married (1641) Luke Hitchcock (b. circa 1614 d. 1659). I thought James Gibbons and Judith Lewis were her parents, but Elizabeth's birthdate (c. 1620??) appears to trash that possibility as they were married ca 1646? 1. [GenConnecticut-L] Churches in Putnam
    2. Does anyone know how I could (relatively easily) find out what churches existed in Putnam, CT in 1856. I found my gggrandparents entry from 12/27/1856 at the state archives. The record indicates that Charles Willett, Clergyman married them in Putnam. I'd love to be able to find out if a church has additional information on them. The registration from the town just has their names, ages and birth places of Canada. Thanks, Beth

    2. I have a few names of persons buried in Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. The sexton's wife very kindly sent them to me. This burials were originally at the future site of the Town Hall. They were removed to the "Ancient" section of Hillside Cemetery. The names I was interested in were: Sawyer, Ostrom, Wood, Dixon, Crossman and Pardee. I would be happy to post them if any are interested. The letter I received was from 1991 so it's possible there is a new sexton by now. Alice

    2. S J Hulett
    3. Rec'd the following information from an email cousin I the cemetery is at Thomaston, Litchfield, Conn. However, I do not know the name of the cemetery. Nor have we confirmed how these families are related...Since the stones are no longer in place this information may be helpful to others. The infomation is from a turn-of-the-century letter written George Gordon . Unfortunately, we don't know who George was or how he relates to this family. We believe the Blakeslees and Lattins were in-laws. "From the list of records in the old cemetery taken before its removal by my Brother and self we find the same row with Thomas and Abigail Lattin next to Thomas Lattin comes Abigail Anne then Anna, consort of James Garnsey, March 14, 1801 age 83. Asher Blakeslee P.M. May 3 1814 age 76, Mary wife of Asher Blakeslee April 26, 1814 age 75....." Abigail Anne was Abigail Anne LATTIN, the Lattin's daughter; Anna, consort of James, was Anna BLAKESLEE Garnsey, Asher and Mary's daughter ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
