I have recently learned (from a 1850 NY census report) that my great-great grandfather, Russell William Roscoe (also spelled "Ruscoe" or "Rusco") was born in CT in 1779. I have no idea where in CT his family might have been nor any information about his family before him. Does anyone have a neat suggestion--or any suggestion!-- of how I might track him down. Hello Everybody, I hope someone can help me with this riddle of my very elusive family. Today I received a death certificate for a baby born in East Windsor, Ct. He died in 1882 of Cholera Infantum. However, he was buried in Pittsfield, Ma., with the rest of my family. His name was Jacob BENCE. There are two other Jacobs that I know of and one was my g.grandfather. The two I have, died in 1887 and 1929. I had no idea that any member of my family had resided in Ct.(at least on that side). I hope someone will help me figure this out. Where should I look first?
