    1. [GenConnecticut-L] OSBORN/ORSBORN and MANNING of New London
    2. Is there a possibility some kind soul out there could do a look up on Olive MANNING (born about 1787) and her husband Thomas ORSBORN/OSBORN, a merchant sea captain out of New London prior to 1817 when they moved to Ohio? I'm trying to find marriage information or anything on their child, Amanda (b. January 6, 1814). Thank you, Maureen

    3. Am digging deeper into my Porter families of the towns mentioned. Have collected a lot of information and would like to be in touch with others who have Porter relatives in these towns. Hezekiah Porter, came to Hartford/East Side of CT River about 1707 and had several sons by first 2 wives: Hezekiah, Timothy*, James*, Isaac, Jonathan, Joseph*, David*, Nathaniel. John Porter, b. Hadley 12Dec1666, moved to Lebanon about 1703: sons John*, Joseph, Reuben. And of course, the sons all had children tool * indicates either my direct line or have some data on this man. If anyone is pursuing a Porter line in these towns, would like to chat with you. Carolyn

    1. [GenConnecticut-L] MURPHY
    2. Carol Lassen
    3. I have recently come across additional information about my great grandmother, Cecelia FORSTER who came from England. According to census data she was born in May, 1835. She first married my great grandfather, John SEXTON. I don't know where they married but their children were all born in Hazardville, Enfield, CT. Their children were: Sarah SEXTON - birthdate unknown Thomas F. SEXTON - born June 1856 in Enfield. He married Sarah WHITE. Their children were Mabel E., b. March 1887 John R., b. January 1890 Louise A., b. July 1892 Marion S., b. October 1897 John Frederick SEXTON - born in 1859 in Enfield who married my grandmother Mary Louise LESTER. After Cecelia FORSTER SEXTON's husband died (date/place unknown although there is a Charles SEXTON who died in Enfield on October 1, 1858, age 35), she married Charles MURPHY who was born June 1843 in New York. According the 1900 CT census they lived on North School Street in Manchester, Connecticut. Only one child is listed: Charles MURPHY, b. February 1871. He is listed as being 29 years of age. According to family records there are other children listed from the marriage of Cecelia FORSTER SEXTON and Charles MURPHY, but I don't know if they were Cecelia's biological children: Alice MURPHY who married Albert WILSON Cecelia MURPHY who married Lewis Palmer Grace MURPHY who married Normal BARNELL (I think this was his second marriage) If anyone has any information on any of these people, I would love to hear from you. I am trying to trace my great grandmother back to England. Thank you. Carol Lassen nee: SEXTON

    3. I guess this is what you call looking for a needle in a hay stack but I am up against a brick wall. Is there someone up there with a census index for the year 1840 of Connecticut. My problem my Gr. Grandfather David H TODD would have to be list as a child. So I am wondering how many TODD'S show up on that years census, and in how many different counties. If I had that break down of counties then I could start by looking up the families in each county. If anybody can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You Very much Carl Todd Pleasant Hill, MO
