I just noticed one mistake in the Cornish file I sent. My grandmother, Mary Violet Wescott's name is spelled Westcott in the file. It doesn't have the extra 't'. Deborah

Timothy, I believe I have your info from the file on Family Search. You must have been doing this a long while, and very thoroughly, I might add. So James Cornish (the Sr.) actually was a founding father of Saybrook and Simsbury? It has long been the tale in our family that his father, John, was a pirate from Cornwall. I have queries out to many British lists, but noone so far has found out anything. Which of the families are you descended from? Here is the further geneaology of the Cornishes in S.C. Martha Elvira Cornish (I believe your file ends with her on my line) was my great-grandmother. She was supposedly a very stern and strict woman, hard to get close to. She married my ggrandfather, John Girardeau Wilkinson and they lived on Edisto Island, SC. Most of the other Cornishes, with the exception of Col. George Cornish, lived in other parts of the state. I have other descendants, children of these I am sending, but haven't entered them yet. If you are interested, let me know. Ernestine Faith Cornish's daughter, Jane Murray, is my godmother. "Aunt Faith" as we called her, was a prominent local artist, and taught me to draw during summer visits to Edisto. The Wilkinson family has a pretty illustrious ancestry. Our line is directly descended from Landgrave Joseph Morton, twice governor under the Lord's Proprietors. His son, LG Joseph II had a daughter, Elizabeth, who married Christopher Wilkinson (his gggrandfather, Christopher, is said to be of the Wilkinsons of Harperly House, England, but this has not been proved. We know his family was from Barton, St Mary's, Yorkshire). I just started my search a few months ago, and don't have much historical background on these families yet, and what I have I am still putting together, but if you are interested in this branch, I will send you the finished product. Thank you so much for your file. Deborah Descendants of Gabriel C. Cornish (grandfather of Andrew (Dr.) Cornish) 1. Gabriel C. Cornish + Mercy Wilcoxson or Wilcox 2.
